Shepherd's Loch
"Eco glamping on a working farm. Six huts powered by a hand-built water wheel. Trout in the loch."
Shepherd's Loch is run by Jamie Menzies โ second generation, with his children Alexander and Millie growing up on the farm. The six glamping units (two yurts, a wigwam, a bothy, a cabin, and a converted house) are powered by a hand-built water wheel that Jamie and his family built themselves. Nothing here is generic.
The loch has trout. There are kayaks to borrow. A zipwire runs across part of the farm for children. Hot tubs, a sauna, a firepit, and outdoor games. In calving and lambing season, guests can get involved with the animals.
Fifteen minutes from the Banffshire coast. Forty-five minutes from the Speyside Malt Whisky Trail. A working Aberdeenshire farm in between โ one that takes the eco side seriously and built the infrastructure to prove it.

โThe best holiday I've had in Scotland
The best holiday I've had in Scotland! I cannot recommend this enough, I've had a great time here with my family. The owner Jamie is very funny and charming. Love it.
