Cowden Farm Holidays
"Peace, pet sheep, and no neighbours. Just the farm."
Liz Phillips designed Cowden Farmhouse herself, room by room. Every detail β the upcycled farm implements turned dΓ©cor, the squishy sofas, the open fire, the Night Garden carved into a private field β exists because Liz thought about it.
The farmhouse sits at the end of a half-mile private farm road with no neighbours, surrounded by sheep and arable land. Guests who barely leave spend their time in the hammocks, around the fire pit, or being quietly followed by the pet sheep. Liz keeps a tame flock on the grounds. Her favourite is called Giggles.
Stonehaven is 7 miles away: an Olympic-sized heated lido, Dunnottar Castle, and the original deep-fried Mars Bar. Most guests don't care. They came for the peace.

βA proper hands-on farm day
We came to Cowden Farm Holidays not quite knowing what to expect, and left already planning to come back. The kids were hands-on from the first morning, the hosts couldnβt have been more welcoming, and waking up to that Stonehaven & the Mearns air was something else. Genuinely one of our best family trips in Scotland.
